Hellow everyone !
How have you guys and girls been? Spring is here...was been here ever since our 5 days long winter...
I have a few things i wanted to Update on, maybe not everyone knows, but last week we had another Emergency meeting to discuss some club rules and future plans. We had 3 hours of debating to blow off some steam and to actually get to some reasonable conclusions. And the last hour was a big bran storming i really loves how everyone who was there took part and the ideas were just overflowing! Of course we collected them and can't wait to see how they will work out in the future. Now that we have a pretty good weather outside we will have a lot more mobility with the meetings.
With this last emergency meeting i could feel a lot of energy from you guys and that some of you are finally ready to take things one step further and be more active in the club not just by participating but also in organizing and helping us build the community we want to be part of.
If you want to see the updated rule-book just click here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-94A05nlxyOSFBiaWo2OVpTbjA/edit
Oh and those who didn't do it yet, can you please fill this form? It's for my online database for the club members : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1r18RT2WiWNSO18fL8EIOS8y-JM9eJZ47_NBL8y-DkyA/viewform
If you don't know if you have filled it one not just go to the group and you will find a File with the list of those who did, just go to the C.A.T. group and under the "files" tab you will find it, it's name is "Full real name"
For News : our next meeting will be 15th of March, i will of course update the event, this is just so you know when to expect it. Reasons why we won't have one this weekend : we had the emergency meeting and those from Cluj can't attend 2 weeks in a row, there has been request to keep it next week because some will have a special IT training, we had issues with the classroom and i can only go Friday to see what is going on, so asking for it this weekend would have been a bit too soon. So yeah a lot of reasons, but if you want to go out grab a drink with a smaller group we can do that, just contact me on FB.
As far as the "opinions" part goes ... it's more like me expressing a few ideas and feelings. I am, like i mentioned before, really really proud of some of you guys, you really took the courage to show up some good ideas (and some not so good but we'll work on them together), the list is long i thank you all, i am really happy to see interest and passion put into the club. On the other hand though, something i found out yesterday kinda got my mood to the ground. On our group there was a post from a member who is really dear to me ( don't get me wrong you are all dear to me, but there are some members who i connected with a lot better) , she wrote in the post that she is leaving the club because she doesn't feel good anymore with us.
This i won't lie, broke my heart. It took me by surprise and it felt really bad. At the emergency meeting one more person told us that she won't be attending so often for almost same reason. That wasn't such a shock since i seen her face before that there is something wrong, it was kind of expected.
This really had me thinking, what am I doing wrong? Everyone is like, of course, it's not your fault blah blah....but how do you expect of me not to take on the blame when I am the one who is most responsible for the club and for the well being of members. Thing is you guys always ask for innovation, for new things, for more and more activities, and that is understandable, but 2 things :
1. we make the meeting to have that middle ground, between those who want to be active during the meeting and move around have activities , and those who prefer to just chill, socialize and get to know each other better. Of course you will feel at a point bored if the other group is in the attention in the given moment, but hey you are not a child, bare with it, It is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone, we really really try to make the best of both worlds, but it is not just up to the organizers! It is up to each and every one of you to feel like a family, to help each other feel good. Put yourself the question : Why am I here? - To be entertained? If that is the case, go and watch tv. To help build a community and be part of it ? - Then come to the meetings and help us build it, I can't do it alone, no one can! Everyone has the same responsibility when it comes to help the other members.
2. Requesting change and then complaining that "things aren't the way the used to be " is BS. The club is more then 3 years old! A child starts kindergarten at this age, just take the picture of yourself when you were born and the one at 3 years old, a LOT changes, you didn't stay a baby, you evolved, you learned you became who you are now, the same thing happens with the club, maybe sometimes things don't go according to plan, but hey didn't it happen to you that you still had an accident after you were potty trained? This is the same thing. Things will be better, the club will get better this I promise you, but it is up to ALL of us to help it grow into a fine adult.
I will not contest any ones choice of leaving, i just want you to know that it does hurt me, and the reason why some leave is just not right in my eyes. I rarely have a good time at a meeting because there is so much going on it's hard to me to take care of everything, but it is my job, but I don't trow in the towel, ...okay i do sometimes, but i pick it up and try harder from there on. So you guys leaving takes my joy from working so hard, because some of the old members helped me go through so much and you guys are soo dear to me, seeing you at meeting helps me feel better, I am sorry, but I did try my best of making things work in a way that you will feel like life is even a bit better when you come to meeting, to give back for the support that you showed me. I hope this club will live long and stay healthy because, how i see it, we need this community, I need it and hopefully I am not the only one feeling like this.
Thank you ,
Neko
